fThe Enlisted Information Warfare Warfare Specialist (EIDWS) Warfare Qualified Sailors are an essential element of our Navy’s Operational Primacy. The objective of the Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist Program is to provide the candidate an introduction into the processes and topics necessary to support the warfighting requirements of our Navy. This personnel warfare qualification standard will focus on mission effectiveness, combat readiness, and survivability as well as introducing an overall understanding of how an individual unit’s mission fits into and supports naval doctrine and its objectives. Experience shows it is essential that every warrior in our Navy be totally familiar with the mission of their command and be able to apply this knowledge to support the successful execution of the command’s current and future missions.
The Commander Information Dominance Corps Reserve Command (CIDCRC) The mission of CIDCRC is to provide qualified information dominance professionals who are ready to be employed across the operational continuum to support and augment the fleet, combatant commands, and Department of Defense agencies in support of assigned missions and national strategic goals. IDCRC Personnel are ready to deploy forward as well as provide operational support during reserve component drill, annual training, and extended active duty assignments.
CIDCRC is the reserve IDC type commander and in this capacity is responsible to recruit, train, and professionally develop IDC reserve sailors in the following designators/ratings:
A. INFORMATION PROFESSIONAL OFFICER (182X, 642X, 742X DESIGNATORS).
B. INFORMATION WARFARE OFFICER (181X, 644X, 744X DESIGNATORS).
C. INTELLIGENCE OFFICER (183X, 645X, 745X DESIGNATORS).
D. SPACE CADRE (5500X OR 6206X SUBSPECIALTY CODES OR VSX AQD).
E. CRYPTOLOGIC TECHNICIAN (CTN, CTT, CTI, CTR RATINGS) ENLISTED PERSONNEL.
F. INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST (IS) ENLISTED PERSONNEL.
G. INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (IT) ENLISTED PERSONNEL.
The Information Warfare Community provides this EIWS Common Core Study Guide to assist the IWC Sailors in qualifying in this warfare program and in essence, becoming a better warfighter.
The Information Warfare insignia was approved in September 2010 and is authorized for wear by members of the Information Warfare Community who have successfully completed the qualification requirements.
Upon implementation in September 2010, experienced Information Dominance Corps Officers in the redesignated 18xx designators were afforded the opportunity to qualify for the IDWO Insignia through completion of an online course and the submission of evidence of prior completion of prescribed requirements. All IDC Officers not being awarded the IDWO Insignia via this method are required to complete the prescribed Officer PQS. The insignia became available for purchase in October 2010.
Personnel comprising the Information Dominance Corps include the following communities: intelligence, information professional, information warfare (formerly cryptology), oceanography, meteorology and space cadre designators/NECs.
